Lindsay Lohan has raised eyebrows after leaving a comment under Leonardo DiCaprio’s Instagram picture in which he calls for a ban on the shark fin trade.
The actor, 44, who is a staunch campaigner for climate and environmental issues, shared a devastating picture where he criticised the ‘gruesome practise of chopping of shark’s fins and dumping the body back into the ocean to slowly drown or bleed to death.’
Upon seeing the image, actress Lohan, 32, commented: ‘I hope you are there and taking this photo’ – prompting a wave of fury as people commented in return to ask her what she was doing to stop the horrifying practise.
Confused by her comment, Leo’s supporters fired back with: ‘Wtf I’m sorry what are YOU doing to stop this.’
Others responded: ‘What’s the matter if he were or not there?’ and ‘Df is that supposed to be mean’, while another asked: ‘Are you drunk again?’
Leonardo is a passionate supporter of environmental issues and used his acceptance speech at the 2016 Academy Awards to urge lawmakers to ‘stop procrastinating’ about the issues surrounding climate change.
The Revenant star has set up the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, which is ‘dedicated to the long-term health and well-being of the Earth’s inhabitants’ and has been largely praised for his conservation work.
